Subject: Caduceon Environmental Mycology Lab
Caduceon Environmental Laboratories Kingston is pleased to announce they will be offering analytical services for mould analysis starting December 1st, 2007. This will enhance our services for indoor air quality issues. The laboratory is equipped for the isolation, identification, and culturing of moulds from various environmental samples.
We will require that all samples be submitted in duplicate during the introductory phase of the mycology lab. One sample will be analyzed by Caduceon while the duplicate will be subcontracted to another laboratory for QA/QC purposes.
Samples will be examined by direct microscopy for mould growth. Analysis will also include growth of moulds on suitable media for identification to genus and/or species level, where possible. Identification to species level is based on a combination of direct examination of materials, microscopic examination, and physiological tests on diagnostic media.
The sample types that we will be able to perform analyses on are as follows:
Bulk (drywall, ceiling tile, carpet, wood, insulation, soil, etc.)
Surface (tape lift, swab, dust, and bulk)
Note: All samples must be submitted double bagged for safe handling purposes.
If you would like to submit samples for mould analysis please contact Richard Lecompte, Microbiology/Mycology Supervisor at (613) 544-2001 or by email rlecompte@caduceonlabs.com. Sampling supplies are available upon request. For pricing please contact Damien Gilbert at (613) 544-2001 or by email dgilbert@caduceonlabs.com.
We look forward to providing you with this new service.
